The Who, How, Where, Why, When, of Float Sideways
WHO:
Everyone. Babies do it while they are incubating in mom’s womb, children do it effortlessly, so we think you can too. Just start somewhere. It doesn’t have to be a huge undertaking. Keep reading
HOW:
Put your cell phone down, close your book, look away from the computer. (If you’re reading this on your cell phone you may want to read this and then put it down)
Take a deep breathe and start looking around. Now take a deeper breathe. SEE, HEAR and SMELL what’s around you.
Who’s there? What are they doing? What do you feel about what they are doing? Look at their face, their smile, or their frown. Let them into your space. Ask if you can come into theirs.
Take another breathe and exhale slowly. While they are talking, tune into the words coming out of their mouth and notice how their mouth moves. Put aside your ready and waiting statements. Don’t interrupt.
Keep looking around. Take a close look at every object your eye lands on. Instead of just glancing, REALLY look at it. Look in depth at the colors, the shape, the lettering on the object if there is any. (Refocus if your mind wanders to tasks) Take another breathe, exhale very slowly.
While out and about, try some unabashed eye contact and a smile with any live being you encounter, (being cautious in dangerous situations of course.) Be more bold than you have become accustomed to and interact with someone you don’t know yet, it may just make your day.
That’s how it starts, you are free to expand on it anyway you like.
WHERE:
Everywhere. Get creative. Then share with us in the Share tab how you are Floating Sideways.
WHY:
You’ve heard the common expression “This is the new normal?“. Things shift, chang. The word ‘normal’ is subjective, and therefore subject to constant change.
So for today, why not just embrace it, Float Sideways, and see where this new current takes you? Many of us don’t have any idea what our immediate or long term future holds, so Float Sideways, take the time to look around and see what you may have been missing before the whole world readjusted it’s course.
You just got permission from the universe to push yourself out of your own usual way(s).
WHEN:
NOW and everyday throughout your remaining days. Float Sideways is what will help make any amount of time in Limbo tolerable. Especially when your usual distractions are not immediately available. Try changing your usual focus of future or past events, and focus on only the day you are in. Better yet, only the moment you are in.
